One of the most appreciated aspects of Padmaloka is the resident community, which is well known for its friendliness, hospitality, warmth and encouragement. The community plays an important part in ensuring that your visit to Padmaloka is enjoyable and productive.

The Padmaloka Community is the team which runs the retreat centre. There are 13 men living here some who are full time teachers / mentors and others who look after the day to day practicalities of running the centre.

There are some senior members of the Western Buddhist Order living here. As well as teaching and leading retreats they are involved in helping with the training of men who wish to become members of the Western Buddhist Order.

News

• June 2008: Tom and Jurgen have been at Guhyaloka retreat centre on the 4 month ordination course. On June 9th they were ordained. Jurgen's new name is Pramodya (He who has joy and delight) and Tom's new name is Sthiramani (He who is an unwavering, resolute, trustworthy, steadfast jewel).
• September 2008: At the beginning of September Lokeshvara will move back to Padmaloka to take over the chairmanship from Samudradaka. Samudradaka is leaving Padmaloka after 5 years to pursue web-site design and to live with his partner.
